My first well-established web design job came in 1999 when I landed a position with iDLX, the electronic spin-off company of Deluxe Corporation. I was brought on to assist their Art Director in making their websites more practical and functional.
However, I just couldn't talk them out of their beloved splash page. At least this one had some navigation on it. They really liked the gold, black, and blue color palette.
iDLX was a bit shaky, so they consolidated it back into Deluxe Corporation, the parent company. There I worked on several websites and sub-sites that all had a gold, black, and red color palette. This would be a recurring theme throughout my career there, and yet another spin-off company, eFunds.
