Building and launching a high-traffic website is no easy feat for a development team, let alone one guy working solo! I spent the better part of a year setting up a host, building dozens of content types, converting a very tough design into a workable front-end, and integrating complex workflows. Fortunately, this project was kept manageable thanks to Drupal, and ongoing support from the professionals at Acquia.

Since I specialize in front-end development and theming, this project tested the limits of my Drupal knowledge, and encouraged me to learn more about the intricacies of Views, complex theme overrides, and node access.

There are only so many hats I can wear, but I viewed this project as an opportunity to learn more about Drupal beyond my specialty. I owe my sanity to the techs at Acquia, especially Drupal mad-man Kenny Silankas, and Brenda Boggs who provided dozens of helpful recommendations and recipes.
